We all have had times when adversity is turned on a dime and opportunities present themselves at the opportune time. This is the case as The Albert Gallatin Regatta group contacted the US Title Series concerning an opportunity to race in Point Marion, Pa which is a wonderful opportunity for the Title Series to showcase the premier drivers in the outboard association for outboard racing.

Our thanks goes out to the city and the board of the USTS in capitalizing on this opportunity and being able to provide an exciting fast paced event.

My thanks to the group over there in Pt. Marion, especially Wendy who provide the following information on the city and surrounding area. Let’s take a quick tour of what other things you might enjoy while in Pt. Marion.

The city itself a small borough that sits at the confluence of the Cheat and Monongahela Rivers. 10 miles from Morgantown, WV, 19 miles from Uniontown, and 60 miles from Pittsburgh, PA.

Point Marion was settled in the mid-18th century, named after Francis Marion, better known as the Swamp Fox. He was a general in the Revolutionary War and gained his nickname by using the swamps in the Southeast part of the colonies to attack and then evade the British. Although the city is named after him, Francis had never even been to the area name after him.

This quite a historical area with many sites of interest
